Schoolboy cyclist injured in bus collision in Derby

A teenager suffered spinal injuries when he was hit by a bus as he cycled to school in Derbyshire.

The 15-year-old was injured at a pedestrian crossing on Duffield Road in Derby, near the junction with Mile Ash and St Benedict's School, at 0825 BST.

The boy, who attends the school, suffered a suspected dislocated shoulder and spinal injuries when he was hit by the single-decker bus.

He is being treated at the Royal Derby Hospital.
