Driver killed in motorway crash

A man has died in a collision on the M1 near the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border.

The man sustained fatal injuries when the transit van he was driving collided with a tipper lorry between junctions 29 and 29A on Saturday morning.

That part of the motorway was closed for about 12 hours following the accident.

Police have appealed for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them.
