Delay warnings after M1 crashes

Drivers were warned to expect delays as the M1 has been closed on the Nottinghamshire/Derbyshire border after two separate accidents.

A van and a lorry were involved in a crash on the northbound carriageway near Chesterfield.

It was followed a short time later by another accident. The motorway remains closed northbound between junction 29 and 30.

One casualty has been taken to hospital by air ambulance.

The northbound carriageway was expected to reopen at about 1800 GMT on Saturday.
