Event aims to boost driver skills

Motorists in a Derbyshire town have been encouraged to improve their skills behind the wheel as part of a road safety campaign.

It follows several serious collisions in the Ashbourne area.

Earlier this year several teenagers from the town were sent to jail in connection with a crash on the A52 which killed three people.

A road safety event will take place at Ashbourne's Shawcroft car park on Saturday.

It will be organised by the East Midlands Rospa Advance Drivers and Riders (RoADAR) alongside the Derby and Derbyshire Road Safety Partnership.
