Masked attackers flee with money

Masked raiders armed with a hammer and crowbar smashed their way into a service station in Derbyshire early on Saturday and escaped with cash.

Police said the gang targeted the Y-Pass garage at Willington on the A38 shortly before 0200 GMT.

A cashier was threatened by the gang who fled with a quantity of cigarettes from the station.

Officers said the men escaped in a black-coloured VW Golf GTi towards Willington and Hilton.
