Murderer missing from open prison

A convicted murderer is one of two inmates who have absconded from Sudbury open prison.

Bernard Coddington, 31, who was convicted in 1997 disappeared along with Stephen Bouskill, 34, who was convicted of drug offences last year.

Coddington is described as white, 5ft 9ins (1.75m) tall, of medium build with dark brown wavy hair and brown eyes.

He has links to both the Humberside and Grimsby areas. Police said neither man should be approached.

Coddington was 17 when he stabbed a man to death in a row over a woman. He was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court in January 1997.

In 2001 he failed to have his original 12-year minimum tariff reduced as part of a review related to the early release of the killers of toddler Jamie Bulger.
