Crowds watch carnival procession

Derby Caribbean Carnival
Police have reported no problems at the carnival so far

Thousands of people have turned out to watch the main parade of Derby's Caribbean Carnival.

On Saturday, dance troupes from places including Leeds and Luton made their way from Peartree Junior School to the main Market Place.

A music festival and family day is taking place at Osmaston Park.

Fears over troublemakers had prompted organisers and police to use mobile CCTV cameras and metal detectors but there have been no problems reported.
