Derbyshire Police have revealed that 156 weapons have been surrendered during their latest amnesty. A total of 59 guns and 107 knives have been handed into police stations during the drive. The amnesty, which is due to finish on Sunday, is part of a wider project tackling gang-related crime. Sharon Squires director of the Derby Community Safety Partnership Director said she was delighted with the response from the public. Ms Squires said: "Every gun and knife that is handed into the police is one less that can be potentially used on the streets of Derby."
