A year on from the killing of a Derby teenager, her family and close friends have arranged a special gathering to remember her.

The body of Halimah Ahmed, 19, was found next to that of Khalid Peshawan, 33, at his home in Derby. He had suffocated her, and hanged himself.

A day of prayer and memory sharing is taking place on Saturday.

Halimah Ahmed's father Ash said the family thought about her constantly and she would never be forgotten.

He said his daughter would not have wanted people to grieve forever and her memory would always live on through the Halimah Trust.

The trust was set up by her parents to support the developing countries that their daughter had been interested in.

When she died Ms Ahmed had just started at Nottingham Trent University, studying International Relations and Global Politics and dreamed of becoming a United Nations ambassador.
