Stolen number plates 'souvenirs'

Thieves in Derbyshire are thought to be stealing number plates as souvenirs, according to police.

Bolsover officers are investigating a spate of thefts in the last six months.

Police Community Support Officer Ben Perry said: "While we do not think they are being used as false plates in crimes, this sort of theft does cause inconvenience to the vehicle owner."

Motorists have also been warned about a series of attempted break-ins of vehicles in the Ridgedale Road area.

Derbyshire Police have appealed for anyone with information to call them.
