Crews battle fire at car workshop

A stretch of road in Derby has been sealed off after a fire at a garage, fire officers said.

Fire crews were called to a car workshop near Cotton Brook Road in Peartree early on Tuesday morning.

The blaze involved a number of gas cylinders, fire officials said. The fire is now under control and the cylinders are being monitored.

The area was cordoned off and police said the road will remain closed while investigations take place.

Six fire pumps and an aerial platform ladder were called to the blaze along with 40 firefighters.
