Woman's lorry death 'accidental'

Scene of the crash at Bradshaw Way
Hollie Gill was crushed by a cement mixer while crossing the road

An inquest into the death of a Derby woman crushed by a cement mixer has concluded it was accidental.

Hollie Gill, 18, of Nottingham Road, died on 10 March at a pedestrian crossing on Osmaston Road.

The inquest was told she and her boyfriend Thomas Reece were crossing Bradshaw Way from the Charnwood Street side when he was struck by a car.

Miss Gill was then found under the wheels of the lorry, which had been travelling in the opposite direction.

She was taken to Derbyshire Royal Infirmary where she died.

Recording a verdict of accidental death, Derby deputy coroner Louise Pinder said exactly how Miss Gill ended up under the cement mixer will remain "a mystery".
