Mr Willis's family and friends are raising funds to help him return home
The family of a Derby DJ badly injured in a holiday road accident have appealed for help getting him home.
Dean Willis's family want to raise more than £8,000 to help him get back from the island of Crete.
The 23-year-old, also known as DJ Beenie, was involved in an accident in the town of Malia where he was knocked off his moped.
He received a broken leg and ribs, facial injuries which needed stitches, and burns when his moped caught fire.
His sister Sarah Allen said: "It's really shocking... you don't expect it to happen.
"He is in a hell of a lot of pain. He wants to come back home."
Insurance risk
Mr Willis's mother Cheryl Yorke flew out to Crete on Sunday.
Under EU regulations he is entitled to free treatment, but he does not have enough funds to return home since he did not have travel insurance.
Friends and family are helping raise the money.
Mrs Allen said £7,000 was needed for the flight since he would require a stretcher, £1,200 for an on-board doctor and £400 for an ambulance to take him from Heathrow Airport to hospital.
Kelly Ostler-Coyle from the Association of British Insurers said: "Obviously it is devastating when you are injured abroad.
"However, when you are injured abroad and you do have insurance, it can be a lot less costly."
