Sixteen arrested in drugs raids

Police have arrested 16 people after drugs raids in Derbyshire at 19 different properties.

Drugs, including cocaine, were seized in the raids in Matlock, Derby, Buxton and Chesterfield.

Five people, all from Chesterfield, have been charged with a range of drugs offences and released on bail.

A 38-year-old man from Brimington, who was charged with drugs offences and money laundering, was remanded after an appearance at Chesterfield magistrates.

A large quantity of drugs were seized, including cannabis, cocaine and Class C steroids, police said.

Det Ch Insp Sandra Baker, of the Serious and Organised Crime Unit, said: "The warrants were executed following a lengthy operation by officers."
