A woman from Derby has dedicated an award to her daughter who was murdered.
Zareen Ahmed was given the prestigious Central Jewel Award for her work within the Muslim community.
Halimah Ahmed, 19, was found dead in Normanton along with 33-year-old Khalid Peshawan last November. Police are treating her death as murder.
Her mother, who was the first woman to head up the British Muslim Forum, said her daughter's death had changed her life forever.
"As you can imagine we've had horrible times, horrible days, when we just find it so difficult to just do the day-to-day things and get by and live a normal life, because it's not normal any more," she said.
Mrs Ahmed said she dedicated the award to her daughter without a thought, because Halimah had been the biggest inspiration in her life.
Earlier this year she and her husband Ashtiaq set up he Halimah Trust to support developing countries their daughter was interested in.
Police believe Khalid Peshawan murdered Halimah before hanging himself. They are not looking for anyone else in connection with the inquiry.
