DNA project to catch fly-tippers
Forensic science is to be used in Derbyshire to catch fly-tippers.

The Environment Agency said more and more cases of illegal dumping were occuring, with 17,500 cases reported in the county last year.

DNA sampling and finger printing will now be used to help bring prosecutions. Derbyshire County Council has given £650,000 to fund the project.

Paul Slater from the Environment Agency said the local authority's grant would make all the difference.
