A Derbyshire mother has started a petition to have CCTV installed in a cemetery where her baby son is buried.

Samantha Twigg, from Clay Cross, found her 10-day-old son Jack's grave in North Wingfield desecrated in August.

She said she would not give up her fight for better security measures at the Dark Lane Cemetery.

North Wingfield Parish Council said there were not sufficient funds to install CCTV but it could be considered as part of next year's spending plans.

Mrs Twigg said: "We're going to get a petition together and present it to them... and say this is how strongly people feel about the security up there because it's virtually non-existent.

"How can people justify going in there and doing that?

"My son went through a lot and he should be able to rest in peace now."

Her son Jack was born with a hole in his heart and was just days old when his parents took the decision to turn off his life support machine.

The baby was buried 11 days after his birth.

About 20 children's graves were vandalised in August. The council says there are signs in the graveyard to warn off vandals.
