M1 closed after vehicles collide
The M1 motorway through Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire was shut for more than an hour following a fatal accident.

A van and a motorbike were involved in the crash on the southbound carriageway at about 1415 BST on Tuesday.

The M1 was closed between junctions 25 and 26, but northbound lanes reopened at 1530 BST and all southbound lanes were clear by 1700 BST.

The victim was later revealed to be the male rider of the motorbike but he has not yet been named.

Traffic was very heavy between junctions 24 and 27 and on surrounding roads into the rush hour.
