Arrest over baseball bat murder

Melvyn Hadley junior was attacked with a baseball bat

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a Derby man killed outside his house.

Melvyn Hadley junior suffered head injuries after being attacked with a baseball bat on waste ground.

The attack happened off Almond Street in Normanton, in the early hours of Sunday. Detectives are questioning a 26-year-old local man.

Melvyn's mother Tanya Higgins described her son as a "homely lad who loved his family and was a free spirit".
