Rider died after horse fell ill
A Derbyshire woman was killed after the horse she was riding had a heart attack, an inquest heard.

Helen Fletcher, 21, from Belper, was riding between Millford and Blackbrook when she was thrown off the horse.

The Derby inquest heard the animal then rolled down a slope and onto her. She suffered fatal head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Peter Ashworth, corner for Derby and South Derbyshire, recorded a verdict of accidental death.

The inquest heard that the horse was near an electricity pole when the incident happened but the coroner was told the animal had not touched the pole and it had not caused the heart attack.
