New powers to break up gangs of youths could help reduce anti-social behaviour in a Derbyshire town, police have said.
Officers in Alfreton can now use dispersal orders to move on groups of two or more youths alleged to have been making a nuisance.
The order was granted after consultation with police and the borough council and relates to specific areas of the town.
It runs for a six-week period and then it will be reviewed.
Police said maps will be left around Alfreton detailing where the order is in place.
