Village gets new flood defences
New defences designed to protect a Derbyshire village from flooding have been completed.

Willington was hit by the floods of 2000, and residents had voiced concerns they could be affected again.

The Environment Agency has spent £60,000 in the Ferry Green area to build a flood bank to stop water backing up from the Trent.

A small habitat scrape has been built into a section of the ditch to improve the environment for animals.
