Midland Mainline jumps up the rail satisfaction table
A rail passenger survey has ranked Midland Mainline as the top rail operator for customer satisfaction in the East Midlands.

The Derby-based train company has overtaken GNER with an 89% satisfaction rating, according to the survey Passenger Focus.

GNER had an 87% satisfaction rating - an increase of 2% over last year. Midland Mainline's rating rose by 10%.

Central Trains showed a 3% improvement with a 78% satisfaction rating .

The train companies' performances are judged on 32 different categories.

The lowest overall national rating in the individual categories was a 33% satisfaction rating for coping with delays.

The next lowest rating was 39% satisfaction for the state of train toilets.

GNER said it is spending £125m on refurbishing its diesel fleet and improving its fleet, stations and car parks.
