Burglary victims get help booklet
Householders who are victims of burglaries in Derbyshire are to be given an information booklet.

The packs, handed out by police officers, are being produced as part of the Safer Homes anti-burglary campaign.

Tips inside include how to improve home security and contact telephone numbers for services such as Victim Support.

A home security assessment sheet is also included, which a police officer will complete before leaving the scene of a break-in.

Reduce risks

Det Ch Insp Andy Stokes said: "We have tried to cover every angle, providing information that will prove most useful to victims in the immediate aftermath of a burglary.

"Our aim is to guide people through the investigation so they know what to expect from the police and when."

Officers hope the booklet will help residents take extra security measures to reduce the risk of becoming repeat victims.
