Train drivers cancel strike days

Midland Mainline staff have called off industrial action
Midland Mainline train drivers have called off a series of 24-hour strikes planned to start at noon on Friday.

Members of the train drivers' union Aslef had planned to take the industrial action over the course of the next three Fridays.

Union officials said they will now recommend a new pay-deal being offered by the company.

However, Midland Mainline says there will still be disruption to their services due to engineering work.

Midland Mainline runs services through Sheffield, Chesterfield, Derby, Leicester, Market Harborough, Kettering and Wellingborough and has travel centres at Nottingham and St Pancras.

Earlier this month Aslef called off industrial action in a separate dispute with Network Rail over safety.
