Man attempts to abduct pedestrian

Police are hunting a man who tried to drag a woman into a car in Derbyshire.

The man, who was driving a dark coloured car, pulled alongside an 18-year-old student as she walked along Whitemoor Lane in Belper.

He then grabbed her and tried to pull her through the rear passenger door into the vehicle, which was possibly a Vauxhall Astra.

The victim has described the man as in his late 40s, bald with a round, fat, stubbly face.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the incident which happened at 1820 GMT.
