Derbyshire villagers are calling for a new speed limit on a road which has seen four fatal crashes in two months.
It follows a report by the Council for the Protection of Rural England, out on Tuesday, which claims six out of ten fatalities are on village roads.
There are calls to slow cars on the A5012 Via Gellia road between Cromford and Newhaven to prevent further deaths.
Cromford Parish Council chairman Albert Crosby said the road had a "good argument" for a lower limit.
He added: "The road is very windy and twisty and there are a lot of turns on it."
