Detectives investigating the death of a woman who was killed in a house fire have charged a man with arson.

The body of Sarah Jane Dudley, 33, was discovered in the house in Belper, Derbyshire, almost two weeks ago.

A 46-year-old local man is expected to appear before Derby magistrates charged with arson with intent to endanger life, Derbyshire Police said.

The woman was found in an upstairs bedroom following the fire in Highwood Avenue at around 0200 BST on 16 May.

A post-mortem examination showed the victim had died from smoke inhalation.
