A man in custody over a fatal house fire has been taken to Derby City Hospital.

Police have not revealed why the man has been hospitalised, but confirmed he was under guard.

The body of Sarah Jane Dudley, 33, was found in the burnt out house on Highwood Avenue at Bargate, Belper, at around 0200 BST on Sunday.

A post-mortem examination has since found she died from smoke inhalation, police said.

The man currently in hospital was arrested by police on Monday.
