A former member of a Nottingham pop group which topped the charts in the 1970s has appeared in court to face a child pornography charge.
John Chambers, 54, who joined Paper Lace in 1983, is accused of possessing indecent images of children.
Pictures were allegedly discovered on a video tape at his home on 20 August 2003.
Mr Chambers, from Aspley, Nottingham, appeared before Nottingham magistrates and was released on bail until 14 June.
Paper Lace had their biggest hit, Billy Don't Be a Hero, which reached the UK number one spot in 1974, before Mr Chambers joined as a bass guitarist.
He is now touring with Billy Fury's original backing band The Tornados.
