Motorbike safety campaign leads region
Motorcyclist in traffic
Derbyshire's motorbike safety iniatitive was launched last year
A motorcycle safety campaign which was pioneered in Derbyshire is to be adopted by other councils in the East Midlands.

The "To Die For" initiative was launched in the county last year, and features posters warning bikers to ride safely.

All eight county councils in the region will now run the campaign.

Cllr Walter Burrows said: "It's obvious they've been watching us for a couple of years now.

"They've had their own campaigns which haven't been a lot of success, so the fact they're adopting the Derbyshire system looks as if they think we're on the right track.

"And let's hope for everyone right through the East Midlands region that we all get the success we're looking for."
