Machete found after bookies raid

Police investigating an armed robbery at a betting shop in Carlisle have found a weapon.

Officers discovered a machete near the Coral bookmakers in Old Raffles Parade, which was targeted by a raider on Friday night.

The robber, whose face was covered, threatened staff with a machete and demanded cash, before leaving with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as about 5ft 8ins and was wearing a dark, hooded top.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Cumbria Police.
