Fault probe into fire death car

The car was found in Kirkby Lonsdale's Mitchelgate

Police are examining the wreckage of a burnt out car, inside which a man's body was found, for evidence of any electrical or mechanical faults.

The dead man, who has not yet been formally identified, was discovered by emergency services in Kirkby Lonsdale, Cumbria, early on Friday.

Police have appealed for help with the inquiry and want to speak to anyone who knows if the car was faulty.

The vehicle was found in the Mitchelgate area.
