Crash man in 'serious condition'

A 73-year-old man is in a serious condition in hospital after his car hit a wall and then a stationary post van in Cumbria.

The man was driving a silver Hyundai Getz when the crash happened on Friday morning at Crossways, Cartmel.

The man, believed to be from the Grange area, was taken to Furness General Hospital with serious injuries.

No-one else was injured in the incident. Cumbria Police are appealing for witnesses.
