Man's body found in burning car

Police have cordoned off the area

The body of a man has been discovered in a burning car in Cumbria, police have said.

Police and fire crews were called to Mitchelgate in Kirkby Lonsdale early on Friday, following reports of a vehicle on fire.

Fire officers discovered the body inside the vehicle.

Few details have as yet been released, but police said the area had been cordoned off while investigations are carried out.
