Bus route takes on extra journeys

Extra journeys have been added to a Cumbrian bus timetable, following suggestions from the travelling public.

Service 70 is used by people to travel around Ulverston, and go to the town's health centre.

From Monday, there will be additional services in the morning to and from this facility.

It follows a drop-in session when the council's passenger transport team heard from bus users how local transport needs could best be met.

Councillor Tim Knowles, Cumbria County Council's cabinet member for transport, said: "These extra morning journeys are good news for bus passengers in Ulverston who rely on this service to get around the town.

"The drop-in session we held for local people was successful and plenty of suggestions were made about how bus timetables can be tailored to meet residents' needs."
