Climber hurt in Lakes crag fall

A climber was airlifted to hospital with back and pelvic injuries after a fall in the Lake District.

The 25-year-old man fell 20 to 25m (65 to 82ft) on Grey Crags, Buttermere, on Thursday afternoon.

Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team was called out to the incident, which involved 26 members.

The man was treated at the scene by the team and an RAF paramedic before he was flown by a helicopter, from RAF Valley, to Furness General Hospital.
