Warning over illegal lake fishing

Illegal anglers are being targeted by police and Environment Agency officials in Barrow, Cumbria.

Fishing with a rod and line has been banned at Barrow Park lake, because of the danger of other visitors being injured by hooks during casting.

Now Cumbria Police has warned that those found flouting the ban will face court action.

Anyone found fishing on the lake until the end of July will be warned; those discovered after that will face fines.
