Beach body is missing fisherman

Police have confirmed that the body of a man found on a beach in west Cumbria is that of a missing angler.

Paul Sheldon, 52, of Festival Road, Millom, was reported missing on 28 June after failing to return home from a fishing trip in Eskmeals.

His body was found by a man fishing on a beach near Drigg Point on 4 July.

Cumbria Police, the coastguard and an RAF helicopter took part in the original search. An inquest has been opened and adjourned.
