Extra patrols after town disorder

Extra police will patrol the streets of a west Cumbrian town to deal with alcohol-fuelled anti-social behaviour.

It comes after officers were called to deal with more than 20 incidents of criminal damage, violence and disorder in Cleator Moor last weekend.

A spokesman for Cumbria Police said large groups of young people regularly gather in the streets of the Square and on Ennerdale Road during the summer.

Officers will use head cams to gather evidence, he added.
