Ambulance involved in road crash

An ambulance answering an emergency call was involved in a crash with another vehicle in Cumbria.

The ambulance had been called to Windermere, when it was in collision with a Fiat car at Ings on Tuesday.

The woman driver of the Fiat was flown to hospital by air ambulance, but was not seriously hurt. Two paramedics were treated for shock but otherwise unhurt.

Cumbria Police is investigating the incident. A second ambulance was dispatched to the original emergency.
