Harbour jumping sparks warnings

Harrington Harbour
Some children have been swimming towards motor boats

Children are risking their lives by jumping into the sea off a Cumbrian harbour, a councillor has warned.

Youngsters in Harrington have been leaping 25ft (7.6m) into the town's dock after climbing over safety barriers on the harbour wall.

Others have also been seen "playing chicken" with motor boats in the dock.

Councillor Mike Davidson, of Allerdale Borough Council, said he was "extremely concerned" that someone could be killed or seriously injured.
