Indecent exposures investigated

Police in Cumbria are investigating a number of indecent exposure incidents.

A man emerged from bushes to expose himself to an 80-year-old woman as she walked her dog between Rinkfield and Burton Road, Kendal, on Thursday.

On the same day a man was reported to have exposed himself in a residential area just off Cockermouth Main Street.

Cumbria Police said the Cockermouth incident was not a one-off and they had received several similar reports since the beginning of the year.

In the Kendal incident, the man is described as white, 5ft 8ins, of slim build and was wearing a grey hooded top and a black knee-length coat.

Police said he would have stood out wearing such thick clothing on a hot day.

The description in Cockermouth is a 35-year-old man, 6ft, of average build with a very hairy body and short dark hair.

Cumbria Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.
