Mr Fountain joins the NDA from BP

The Cumbria-based Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has revealed its new chief executive.

Tony Fountain joins the NDA, based at Moor Row, near Whitehaven, from BP, where he was a chief operating officer.

The authority is responsible for the decommissioning of all 22 nuclear sites around the UK, including four sites in west Cumbria.

Mr Fountain, who will take up the role in October, takes over from acting chief executive Richard Waite.
