Girl injured in hit-and-run crash

The driver of a van who failed to stop after his vehicle struck a pedestrian is being sought by police in Cumbria.

A 13-year-old girl had to be treated for minor injuries after she was hit by what was described as a red van in the centre of Ulverston.

It happened on County Road, opposite the police station, on Wednesday afternoon.

Police are appealing for witnesses, or anyone with information about the driver, to contact the force.
