Three deny drugs plot involvement

Two men and a woman have gone on trial in connection with an alleged plot to bring cannabis worth £35m into Cumbria.

John Nightingale, 65, of Lane End West, Windermere, is accused of conspiracy to supply controlled class C drugs and money laundering.

Sharon Ambrose, 48, of Store Park, and 43-year-old Duncan Maxwell, of Lake Road, both Windermere, are accused of money laundering.

The trio deny all charges. The trial, at Carlisle Crown Court, continues.
