Iron bars used in bookmaker raid

Two armed robbers threatened workers at a bookmaker's shop in west Cumbria with iron bars.

The men took cash in the raid at Ladbrokes on High Street in Cleator Moor on Thursday.

The staff members were uninjured but left "deeply shaken" by their ordeal, police said.

The robbers, who were both wearing hooded tops, ran off towards Duke Street after the raid. Two men were later arrested on suspicion of robbery.
