Arrest over garden fight stabbing

A man has been arrested in connection with an incident in Carlisle in which a 25-year-old suffered stab wounds.

Police were called to Lediard Avenue in the Currock area of the city on Tuesday night after reports of a disturbance.

A man from Wigton was injured when a fight broke out in a garden. He was taken to hospital but his injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

Police arrested a 27-year-old man on suspicion of assault and grievous bodily harm with intent.
