A carer who took out a loan in the name of a disabled man from Carlisle he was paid to look after is to be deported after he finishes a prison sentence.
Michael Tambala, 31, applied for a £6,000 loan online in the name of Fred Spedding, 64, who has cerebral palsy.
Appearing at Carlisle Crown Court, Tambala admitted two charges of theft and fraud and was jailed for a year.
The court heard that as soon as he was released from jail, he would be sent back to his home country of Malawi.
