Tribute to toddler struck by car

Emily
The family has requested people wear bright colours at her funeral

The parents of a one-year-old girl, who died after being hit by a car in the driveway of her home in Cumbria, have paid tribute to their "beautiful baby".

Emily O'Brien died at a Manchester children's hospital, two days after the accident in Chapel Field, Walney, Barrow-in-Furness, on 28 September.

Catherine and David O'Brien said they wanted Emily to be remembered with love, happiness and smiles.

They also thanked hospital staff, air ambulance and Cumbria Police.

The family said they wanted Emily to be remembered the way she lived her life, with vitality, adventure and curiosity.

A private ceremony will be held at St Mary's Church in Walney on 13 October, with the family requesting only bright colours be worn.
